Special Education Information

Beginning June 1, 2005, the Office of Administrative Hearings began processing Special Education cases.  Requests for hearings, requests for mediations, and public inquiries for these matters may be directed to the Sacramento office of the Office of Administrative Hearings as follows:

Web Cast of Special Education Advisory Committee Meetings
 
The Department of General Services' Office of Administrative Hearings will feature live Web casts of the bi-annual Special Education Advisory Committee meetings.  Participants are invited to submit questions and comments that will be shared with the board members live during the meeting.  To participate, or to find out about upcoming or past Web casts click here. SPECIAL NOTICE RE: CALENDAR CHANGES
 
Effective July 7, 2008, the Office of Administrative Hearings has new calendaring guidelines for new special education matters.  Click here for details.

OAH has created a listserve that allows interested parties to receive emailed copies of decisions as they are issued.  If you wish to be included on that listserve, please send your name and email address to laura.gutierrez@dgs.ca.gov
 

 
ATTORNEY / ADVOCATE LIST
 
Pursuant to California Education Code section 56502(h) and its interagency agreement with the California Department of Education, the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is required to post a list of free or reduced cost Attorneys and Advocates.  Inclusion on this list is by application and self-certification that the applicant meets the requirements of California Education Code section 56502(h).  OAH makes no representation as to the cost, availability or expertise of those included on this list.
