Retaining OAH

The Office of Administrative Hearings' services, including administrative hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution processes conducted by experienced Administrative Law Judges, are available to state and local agencies throughout California.

State Agencies
State agencies may enter into an Interagency Agreement with OAH ALJs to perform administrative hearings, mediation, arbitration, or other adjudicative services.  An Interagency Agreement is a contract between two state agencies which allows one agency to purchase services from another.

To request an Interagency Agreement, please contact OAH's Contract Coordinator at (916) 263-0550.

County, Local Public Entity or School Districts
Services of OAH are available by contract to any county, local public entity or school districts for hearing services pursuant to Government Code section 27727.   OAH currently conducts a variety of proceedings for local agencies, including teacher layoffs, personnel and disciplinary hearings, labor arbitrations, and public permit citation and revocation appeals.

To request more information or a contract, please contact Kay Stubbings at (916) 263-0512.

Fees
Fees for OAH services are pursuant to the current fiscal year's Price Book of the Department of General Services.  See below for important information on OAH's rates.

Court Reporter firms contract with OAH in a competitive bidding process, and the fees charged vary by geographical region.  For a full listing of current court reporting contracts, see Court Reporter Services.
